61Syx Teknique is a talented and devoted group of individuals who find a common passion in dance. Friends before crewmates, 61syx together provides a high flying energy filled performance that blends perfectly with any type of event. Teknique not only provides amusement for the eyes, they also take the time to personally show their own story through the art of dance and hip hop. Packed with an arsenal of dynamic footwork, explosive acrobatics, interactive routines and a thrilling vibe, you can expect a stunning performance that also educates the positive aspects of hip hop and BBoying, as well as showing how it has played a role in their individual lives.
61Syx has been an official group since 2004. Starting as a group of friends from the same high school, 61Syx has become one of the most prominent BBoy crews in Michigan. Beginning with four members, Teknique has grown to its current thirteen active members of all different ages and races. Regardless of age or background, you can see in everybody’s eyes that this is what they love to do!
With an extremely impressive resume already under their belt, 61Syx has shared the stage with such hip hop artists as: B2K, Lloyd Banks, Tony Touch, and Fat Joe. They have also performed for thousands at events such as the annual Grand Rapids summer festival “Blues on The Mall” and Grand Rapids Rampage football games. Never finding any show too small, 61Syx Teknique has also performed for numerous charity events, church groups, fashion shows, and for family and friends. This group of natural performers needs no excuse to dance! Always looking for a chance to share their experiences and knowledge, Teknique has also been teaching classes and workshops in an effort to keep the passion of hip hop alive!
