Ron is currently an AFA Foundation Board member. He also serves as the National Vice President for Gamma Sigma Alpha - National Greek Academic Honor Society.
Ron’s passion for higher education stems from his involvement with his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and his involvement in Orientation and Student Government as an undergraduate. He has advised several SigEp chapters across the country and currently advises his home chapter, where he and his partner host etiquette dinners each semester. On the national level, Ron chairs SigEp’s National Leadership Committee, which oversees their Leadership Continuum; a comprehensive, successive, leadership curriculum that touches over 5,000 students annually.
Ron is in high demand as a speaker, appearing at over 100 campuses, many national conferences, and at several national fraternity and sorority conventions. He has impacted over 10,000 students with his talks on Risk Management and Alcohol and Substance Abuse.
Ron has also published several articles and chapters in books, and is often cited for his expertise in Newsweek, NBC Nightly News, NPR’s Talk of the Nation, and Court TV. As the inventor of the Hazing Hotline, Ron is called upon frequently to work with colleges and universities to improve Greek Life and Student Activities.
